When I type in my zip code, my local library doesn’t come up. Can I still use the app? This may mean that your library is not participating in the app at this time or we inadvertently missed a zip code. No worries! Simply follow the prompts and we will get you added so that you can use the app.
I uploaded a custom photo to the app for my child but not it is not showing. What may have happened? The custom photo is taken directly from your device’s camera roll. If that photo gets deleted from the camera roll, it will also get removed from the 1000 Books app. Simply upload a new photo or use the default owl photo.
Why does it look like the app was put out by Waukesha County or Waukesha County Federated Library System? Our library system name used to be Waukesha County Federated Library System. As of January 1, 2016, we changed our name to Bridges Library System. We are still a department of Waukesha County and that is why our app is listed as being developed by the County of Waukesha.
Where is all the data stored that is collected? Our partners at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee App Brewery host storage of data in a secure cloud service.
Will the app be available in Spanish? Yes, a Spanish language version is available. Users that use or change their device’s language to Spanish will be presented with the Spanish version.
To change the language on your mobile Apple device, go to Settings > General > Language & Region > iPhone Language — select Español.
To change the language of your mobile Android device, at the top-right of the screen, tap Apps> locate and tap the Settings icon > near the bottom-left of the screen, tap the Language & Input option > locate and choose Spanish.
The Spanish translation of this app is supported in part by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds, awarded to the Wisconsin DPI by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services. La traducción al español de esta aplicación es financiado en parte por los fondos del Acta de los Servicios y Tecnología Bibliotecarios (LSTA), otorgado al DPI de Wisconsin por el Instituto Federal de Servicios de Museos y Bibliotecas.
